Hollywood Studios Commissary Lane
Hollywood Studios Commissary Lane connects the Streets of America to the end of Hollywood Boulevard in front of The Great Movie Ride. The street does not have any attractions or shops, but it does have two restaurants for your dinning enjoyment. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant
The Sci-Fi Dine-In is a cool restaurant that pays tribute to classic American Drive In theaters that were popular in the 1950's. The inside of the restaurant looks like you are outside under the night sky. Fiber optic lights are used to make the ceiling twinkle like the stars in the night sky. Cars that were in style in the 50's are lined up row after row facing a giant movie screen and are used as dinner tables. Your convertible even comes complete with a mounted speaker that adds to the experience. On screen you will find science fiction clips and cartoons. This is, after all, the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. Your waitress, or car hop, travels from car to car taking orders on roller skates. Kids usually think that this is sort of cool. The menu consists of a variety of hot and cold sandwiches. There is also a pretty good selection of other dishes which include Baby Back Ribs, New York strip steaks, salmon, pasta and even tofu. All of these dishes sound delicious, and I'm sure they all are but I overlooked the fancier dishes and had a flame broiled juicy burger and onion rings instead. To finish out the meal, I had an Oreo milkshake. It was the perfect ending to a night out at the Drive-In. Make your reservations well in advance for this popular Dine In restaurant. ABC Commissary
The ABC Commissary is a large counter service restaurant that is located on Hollywood Studios Commissary Lane of course. It can seat up to 562 people. But even with the large seating capability, this air conditioned eatery is often very crowded with people waiting on seats to become available. They serve a number of international dishes that include burgers, fish and chips, black bean salads, noodle stir-fry, Cuban sandwiches and a selection of yummy desserts like chocolate mousse.
