Jambo House



Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas has two sections, the Jambo House and the new Kidani Village. Jambo House is the original vacation club resort accommodations at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. This section consists of 216 rooms which are located on the 5th and 6th floors in the main Animal Kingdom Lodge building.

The Jambo House has African-inspired architecture and landscape design. The resort features thatched ceilings with large beams, hand-carved furnishings, real African artifacts and a huge mud fireplace in the main lobby. The spirit of Africa is evident in every aspect of the resort and it invites guests to have fun as they explore.

Animal Kingdom Villas
Kidani Village

The newest section to Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas opened in 2009. This new section known as Kidani Village is a separate resort facility from the Animal Kingdom Lodge and has its own lobby and check in desk. The lobby features authentic African-inspired architecture and decorations with hand carved columns and furnishings that have intricate designs. The detail in the furnishings together with the real African artifacts that are displayed in the lobby really lets the spirit of Africa shine through.

The beauty of nature in brought inside with the decor as well. The tall floor lamps make you think of swaying trees, and the decorative hanging fixtures appear to overflow with colorful vegetation. The great outdoors, however, are never far from the mind of guests as the huge arched window in the main lobby reveal the adjacent savannas which houses many exotic animals in their natural setting.

Kidani Village is located about .5 mile away or a nice 10 minute walk. Kidani Village also has its own dining, shopping and recreation opportunities too. You can learn a little more about these from the information provided below.

Kidani Village offers the same room configurations as other Disney Vacation Club Resorts. The details of these rooms can be viewed at our Disney Vacation Club Resorts page. The majority of rooms have Savanna views. The standard view rooms however often overlook the pool, garden or parking lot.

Food and Beverage at Kidani Village

Sanaa Restaurant - The new Sanaa Restaurant at Kidani Village specializes in African cuisine with Indian flavors and is open for both lunch and dinner. Just as its name - in Swahili - means "work of art," Sanaa offers its Guests beautifully prepared food in an artistic atmosphere.

Main menu selections include Tandoori Chicken, Grilled Lamb, New York Strip and Spice-crusted Cornish Game Hen. Basmati Rice, Stir-fried Green Beans and Five-Grain Pilaf can be ordered as sides. Maji Pool Bar - This grab and go eatery is located next to the Maji pool. Menu selections include items like Turkey Club Sandwiches on Multi grain bread or Caesar Salads with Tandoori Chicken.

Kid selections include favorites like Uncrustables Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches and Turkey Sandwiches.

Recreation and Activities at Kidani Village

Animal Programs - unique to Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, offer an up close encounter with exotic animals that are sure to delight the entire family. Activities that guests can take part in include the following:

*Flamingo feeding at Flamingo Pond *Night vision viewing of animals *Animal tracking at Arusha Rock *Wildlife games and cultural safaris in the Sunset Lounge *African arts and crafts on the Uzima Pool Deck *Bush Camp, where children and adults can explore the African culture through games, crafts, and food and enjoy and up close and personal glimpse of the Resort's animals *Campfire storytelling

Barbecue Pavilion - Families who stay at a Vacation Club property have the luxury of eating some if not all of their meals in their villas. In addition to having a full kitchen to use in the One, Two, or Three bedroom units Disney has provided a BBQ pavilion too. Two charcoal barbeque grills and 2 covered picnic tables are available on a first come basis to resort guests. This pavilion is located near the sports courts area of Kidani Village.

Basketball and Shuffleboard Court - Need a little more activity in your day? Then make use of the half basketball court and shuffleboard court area of Kidani Village. These courts are available for complimentary use on a first-come, first-served basis for Guests staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. Complimentary equipment is available at Community Hall.

Community Hall - is located adjacent to the lobby at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village and includes a ping-pong table, foosball table, video games, television, and ongoing activities such as arts and crafts. This area is like a great big family room with lots of games and activities to keep everyone busy for a few hours. Our family has found that having access to Community Hall is beneficial especially on rainy days when going to a park is not appealing.

Samawati Springs Pool - is a 4,700-square-foot, zero-depth entry pool with a 128-foot long slide. It provides the perfect place to cool off and have fun for a few hours. The pool is surrounded by large canopy trees and Floridian palms; Samawati Springs includes 2 adjacent hot tubs providing a haven for rest and relaxation. These hot tubs feel wonderful on tired achy feet! It is a good way to end the day after leaving one of the parks.

Safari So Good Arcade - is a 24-hour high-tech game room. It features both classic arcade games and the latest in video game entertainment. The arcade is located next to lobby at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village.

Survival of the Fittest Fitness Center - is located near Samawati Springs Pool. The Fitness Center offers the latest in fitness equipment including free weights, treadmills, ellipticals, bicycles and stair climbers. Lockers are available.

The facility is open from 6:00 a.m. through 9:00 p.m. The center is available to Resort Guests ages 14 and older at no additional charge. However, guests ages 14 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. A personal trainer is also available by appointment.

Tennis Courts - are located near the Barbeque Pavilion. This resort has 2 lighted hard courts and water fountains. Use of equipment is complimentary for Resort Guests and is available at Community Hall.

Uwanja Camp - is located near Samawati Springs Pool. It is an animal observation themed water playground that includes 3 interactive areas for kids of all ages.

The Observation Station is for children ages 4 and younger. This space invites kids to unscramble animal images, cross a rope bridge and run through a geyser and shallow pool.

The Departure Zone is for kids ages 5-7. This area includes a water tower, pulleys and squirting gardens.

The Base Camp area is for kids 8 and older. This play area includes water cannons and overflowing water buckets.



Animal Kingdom Villas
Shopping at Kidani Village

Johari Treasures - is a gift shop located in the main lobby of Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. The shop sells authentic African-themed merchandise including Zulu baskets, hand-loomed clothing and hand-carved masks. The shop is open from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.; Johari Treasures also sells Disney-branded items like apparel, toys and Disney Character plush.



Animal Kingdom Villas
Transportation at Kidani Village

Bus transportation is available from the Animal Kingdom Villas to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, the Downtown Disney Area, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Transportation to the Orlando International Airport via Disney's Magical Express.

Transportation to other Disney World Resorts is available by bus only with a transfer at the Downtown Disney stop.



Both Jambo House and Kidani Village offer spacious accommodations that include kitchenettes/kitchens and multi-bedroom units. However, the main attraction of these Vacation Club resorts is the animals. There are over 30 species of wildlife that roam free in the 46-acre wildlife preserve that surrounds three sides of these resorts.

These tropical savannas offer you the unique opportunity to observe exotic animals in their natural habitat from special viewing areas throughout the Resort and from the balconies of select Guest rooms.
